The External Investing Group ("XIG") provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world's leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies.

Responsibilities:



  • Unique opportunity for a legal analyst, paralegal or attorney to join the Vintage team in a non-legal role to work on fund formations/bespoke mandates/deal contracts
  • Working with GS functional teams (legal, tax, controllers, operations) on fund and deal structuring
  • Reviewing offering documents (PPMs, LPAs, etc.) and other ancillary documents for commingled fund offerings and separately managed accounts.
  • Liaise with clients and product teams on execution of mandates
  • Managing side letter negotiations
  • Partnering with operational teams on day to day fund and deal management
  • Reviewing purchase and sale contracts and transfer agreements related to secondary private equity fund transactions.
  • Managing deal syndication process with our investors
  • Serving as a resource to Vintage team on general fund and deal matters


Qualifications:



  • The ideal candidate would have experience reviewing and negotiating legal contracts with a focus on private equity fund formation or deal documents
  • Experience with private equity funds is preferred (but not required)

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
