Job Description

The CT Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day to day activities of the Free Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs), including scheduling, performance improvement, and daily problem solving. The position ensures service operation, personnel management, resource allocation, and control in order to support and enhance patient care. The position is responsible for the orientation, training, evaluation and specific job duties of the team members of the FSEDs. The position is responsible for all issues of quality care of exams performed and oversees the clinical activities of students assigned to CT that are in the radiologic technology program. The CT Supervisor also works in staff and performs CT and XR procedures.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Assumes responsibility for all daily operational needs department-wide, including staffing levels, workflow, patient scheduling, and supporting the department in action.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, personnel management, and environmental safety.
  • Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
  • Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and department managers within and across service lines.
  • Fosters a service which is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department.
  • Responsible for ongoing development of staff and unit specific patient care programs.
  • Sets up and adjusts equipment per radiologist protocol for exam.
  • Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards.
  • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
  • Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the CT department to perform examinations.
  • Performs various clerical duties.
  • Must be available for on call status, as needed, after normal operating hours.
  • Is responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Manages team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Technical Diploma/Certificate in Radiology or Associate's Degree in Radiology, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiology, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed in State of Florida, required upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT), required upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography (RTCT), required upon hire.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS), required upon hire.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3 years radiology/technical experience, required.
  • 3 years supervisory ore teaching experience, preferred.
