Minimum Qualifications
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred; HS diploma, or equivalent accepted with appropriate amount of experience
  • Certified Pool Operator (SPO) license (department will incur cost of applicant earning license if necessary)
  • 1-3yrs experience in a facility or operational support type role
  • Experience supervising or leading students
  • Willingness to work evening/weekends as necessary
  • Knowledge of aquatics operations and Lifeguard procedures


Position Summary
The Senior Coordinator for Facility & Special Event Operations provides substantial support to the Tate Student Center, reporting directly to the Associate Director of Facilities & Operations. This role is instrumental to the seamless functioning of operations across multiple key areas including the Tate Student Center, Memorial Hall, Legion Pool, Legion Field, and Quarters A. With oversight of a student team, including an Operation Assistant, this role is central to maintaining high standards of service, environment, and efficiency of Facilities & Operations.

Large-scale Event Operations-

  • Provide on-site support for large-scale campus and departmental events, including home football games, commencement, and other signature events as assigned.
  • Monitor and support all aspects of facility operations, including crowd control, supervision of contracted security and event staff, and ensure a safe environment for all guests.
  • Serve as liaison for campus partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist leadership with enforcement of large-scale event policies and procedures.

Fleet Management-

  • Support management of fleet of departmental vehicles.
  • Ensure routine and preventive maintenance, cleaning, and required inspections.
  • Maintain proper insurance coverage and manage claims.
  • Ensure adherence to all university and USG policies.
  • Monitor "Report My Driving" program and address concerns as necessary.
  • Provide updates and routine reports regarding mileage, fuel charges and overall fleet inventory.

Legion Pool Operations-

  • Provide administrative and operational oversight for Legion Pool.
  • Hire, train, supervise and develop student staff.
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and oversee maintenance of the facility.
  • Ensure adherence of necessary safety, security and operational policies and procedures.

Facilities Support & Fundraising Support-

  • Provide additional support to facilities managed by Tate Student Center.
  • Hire, train, supervise and develop student personnel, including an Operations Assistant.
  • Support implementation of cleaning schedules and special projects of interior/exterior of facilities.
  • Coordinate appropriate usage of the Art Wall and maintain other artwork/displays throughout facility.
  • Perform routine AED and other safety/security checks.
  • Coordinate biannual print and poster sale (Fall/Spring).
  • Prepare and facilitate necessary contracts, equipment/space planning, vendor logistics, and advertisements.

Capital & Inventoried Equipment Management-

  • Assist leadership with departmental inventory of capital equipment, furnishings and other inventoried items.
  • Conduct annual audits and reporting as required by the Office of Property Control.
  • Ensure proper disposal and surplus of items.
  • Assist with processing of any necessary insurance claims.
