Job Description

The Specialist is an individual contributor who also works in a team environment on various activities impacting the Global Classification COE. This position will primarily support global Free Trade Agreements (FTA) by reviewing and determining eligibility. The Specialist will be able to determine accurate classification of Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) & Country of Origin (COO) for standard and Engineered to Order (ETO) products and COO solicitation while creating and maintaining backup in the system. The Specialist will handle day to day transactional tasks, respond to requests for information as well as participate in department projects as assigned. The position will require you to follow, create and improve processes and procedures ensuring consistent practices in line with the Global Trade Compliance policies. The Specialist 2 will be primarily focused on all aspects of Free Trade Agreement Qualifications, request for information management and country of origin determination. You will report to the Global Trade Manager.

Your Responsibilities:
  • General knowledge of the following regulations and rules:
    • Harmonized Tariff Schedule on a global level in accordance with WCO rules and regulations.
    • U.S. Export Administration Regulations and the Commerce Control List as well as working knowledge of foreign export control laws
    • Global Country of Origin rules
  • Deep knowledge of global Free Trade Agreements and how to determine eligibility.
  • Determine global HTS codes, US ECCN and COO for all products
  • Read and interpret Bills of Material, engineering drawings and other technical data.
  • Create adequate backup documentation for product classifications per department procedures.
  • Navigate SAP/IFS systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in day-to-day transactions
  • Work on projects as assigned
  • Complete daily recordkeeping tasks supporting both US regulations and Rockwell company policy for recordkeeping
  • Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations
  • Review, assess and implement process and procedure changes related to US export regulation changes
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 3 years of experience in classification and import/export compliance activities.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365, Access Databases & Excel. SAP/GTS experience is a plus.
  • Licensed Customs Broker, CUSECO, or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a plus
