The Flying Leader - Advanced is primarily responsible for triaging issues discovered on product development, Fast Feedback, dealership and customer vehicles. The flying leader will share, promote, and report critical points to the Vehicle Operability Manager and/or Software Configuration Leader. They will collect and interpret data and direct it to the appropriate teams for resolution. They will be instrumental in enhancing vehicle usability and deploying new features during validation, while also contributing to and participating in the missions and training of flying analysts. Their responsibility covers a vehicle project or module. Along with the entire Operability and Commissioning Team, they will strive to improve vehicle-level operability by promptly identifying and resolving issues and updating vehicles with the latest compatible software configurations. Responsibilities include: * Discover, root cause, collect data, document/assign issues * Test and approve SW baseline * Support issue meetings * Support build of EE Plywood Buck * Support Commissioning - define SW baseline * Support project status reports * Define exception list * Support training of team members * Support software update activities * Support Readiness Reviews: Maturity, Issues, Compatibility, Workarounds * Propose Efficiencies
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree - Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Related Engineering from an ABET accredited program. * 8+ years of experience in electrical/electronics. * Minimum English proficiency at B2 level. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to conduct meetings and working groups in English. * General automotive knowledge. * In-depth understanding of electricity/electronics and electrical/electronic architectures. * Familiarity with industrialization and R&D processes and tools. * Proficient in computer tools. * Experience troubleshooting vehicle systems in various environments. * Skilled in using electrical debugging tools (e.g., digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools, CDA, Dianalyzer, current probes). * Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills. * Basic knowledge of software and modeling concepts. * Independent leader and self-starter, focused on triage and synthesis. * Ability to work well with a team of experts. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Hold a valid driver's license, willing to drive and test vehicles, and able to obtain a chauffeur's license for heavy-duty trucks. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools (CAN diagnostic tools, CANoe, CANalyzer.) * Demonstrated experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, current probes, and other diagnostic equipment. * Demonstrated experience performing vehicle and system level trouble shooting/root cause analysis and experience performing circuits analysis on the vehicle sub-systems. * Knowledge of Electrical Systems: Autonomous driving (ADAS), Electrified powertrains (EPWT), Electrical & Electronic Architecture, Connected Vehicles, Human Machine Interface (HMI), Infotainment, Software. * Knowledge of embedded diagnostics and tools for the Integration, Validation, Industrialization of EE systems. * Certified problem-solving skills (Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt).
