Research Pro 1-Preclinical Research - Department of Neuroscience

40% Technical support
Provide technical support to the lab to include responsibilities such as animal husbandry, animal welfare (which may include occasional work on the weekends), histology/necroscopy, intracranial surgeries and neuroanatomy.

60% Research
Execute structured research project (may be part of larger project in the lab) that focuses on specific brain regions that affect motivation. The candidate will be expected to provide intellectual input to the project although will receive overall direction and guidance from the PI and other lab staff. Individuals are expected to keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in a lab notebook, as well as in various databases.

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology or related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least 4 years. Previous research experience required. Must be willing to handle/work with rodents. Applicants must be highly organized and willing to work in team setting. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others

Preferred Qualification:
Previous experience handling mice or rats strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $20 per hour to $22 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
