AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees' work-life integration. Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person at an AlixPartners office and remote work.

This part-time internship is an in-person experience at our Southfield, MI office. The candidate must be available to intern on-site; there is flexibility with school course work. The internship will last approximately 6 months with potential internship extension depending on business needs.

Location: Southfield, MI

In this support role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will work with our Corporate Applications Client Services, BIC, and Marketing team, other IT teams, and business partners on delivering quality data solutions to meet business demand.

Known internally as Intern, this flex-time role (20 - 30 hours per week) is located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the Corporate Applications Business Relationship Director in the IT-Business Applications organization. Paid relocation and benefits are not available for this position.

What you'll do and what you can look forward to:



  • Work in a learning- & collaborative-centric IT environment that supports a variety of business operations.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Utilize and improve communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Gain experience working on multiple projects at the same time (time/priority management).
  • Learn the value of and balance around software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing and project management processes in an IT environment.
  • Understand the process and requirements for delivering IT-solutions into non-IT business organizations.
  • Work with our business partners directly on capturing business requirements.
  • Research and evaluate tools and technologies to enhance business operations and IT processes.
  • Gather and analyze requirements from various departments including Marketing, Business Intelligence, Client services, legal, finance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and integration with organizational standards.
  • Help identify and recommend processes and departmental improvements.
  • Triage day-to-day support tickets and requests.

What you'll need:



  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate from, an accredited University, preferably in an IT-related curriculum.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in English, the desire to dig down into issues to determine their root causes, and the skill to ask questions to obtain full understanding.
  • Dependable with excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a collaborative manner and interact with people at all levels.
  • Process and detail oriented with the ability to grasp the big-picture, be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to work in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
