Takes Patient Meals/Food Requests/Supplements/Formulas from the Patient Tray Line and delivers the Meals/Requests/Supplements/Formulas directly to the patient or Nursing staff; Adds requested hot beverages and frozen desserts to the tray before delivering to the appropriate location from the nearest Patient Galley; Uses mandatory Infection Control precautions and patient identifiers upon entering each patient room
* Records ticket numbers of all Meals/Food Requests taken for delivery
* Delivers all Patient Requests within 45 minutes of the order being placed
* Removes dirty trays from Patient's room or Nursing floor as needed
* Assists Tray Line in all functions needed - preparation of Emergency Department Bags, Box Meals, etc.
* Works Tray Line position if needed
* Wipes down clean trucks and pushes the trucks into the hallway for the next meal
* Assists in Dish Room as needed
* Maintains high levels of sanitation in work area (including all equipment, carts, etc.)
* Handles food in accordance to department, hospital, state, federal & JCAHO guidelines
* Performs all other duties as assigned

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

- Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
- Moderate physical effort requiring long periods of standing, walking, and periodic lifting of 50 pounds or more.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Able to walk / stand for extended periods

* Must be able to transport a minimum of 1 meal truck.

* Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks

* Must be customer service orientated

* Must be able to recognize potential needs of the patient

* Must be dependable - no excessive absenteeism / lateness as per policy

* Must follow safety procedures
