Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives ( IHI) supports the intentional integration of interprofessional education, practice, and collaboration across UNC-CH. The mission of this unit is to support interprofessional endeavors that enhance the capacity and capability to improve health outcomes. Interprofessional Health Initiatives contains the Office of IPEP, Office of Health Professions Advising, and UNC Rural, all pan-university initiatives with many internal and external partners. Collaborating units include the Schools of Business, Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work; the department Health Sciences; Biomedical Engineering, and the Health Sciences Library. Building on this collaborative powerhouse of institutions with rich traditions of excellence, UNC-CH is uniquely positioned to transform health and human systems by preparing students, faculty, staff, and practitioners from different disciplines to work better together.
Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

This is a time-limited position with an estimated duration through June 2027 with potential for renewal.

The Experiential Program Specialist provides comprehensive professional project/program management for experiential learning initiatives within the Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives at a high performing level. This includes, but is not limited to, (1) developing and maintaining productive collaborative work relationships internally within the Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives and externally with faculty, staff, students and affiliated partner institutions; (2) assessing and responding to key stakeholder needs; (3) contributing intellectually and thoughtfully to the development, planning, and implementation of new initiatives; and (4) demonstrating an ability to think critically and problem solve.

This position will also provide experiential learning program administration for the Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives as well as other educational programs within the unit as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, event planning and execution, preparation/editing of letters and documents, assisting with travel/personal reimbursement, office administration, assisting with financial actions, and assisting with human resources actions. This position must analyze, prioritize, and keep track of multiple pieces of complex and often confidential information to make accurate, efficient recommendations regarding workflow, and provide facilitation and processing of information and verbal and written correspondence. The incumbent must facilitate completion of work at a rapid pace on time-sensitive matters with routine interruptions. The Experiential Programs Specialist will also assist in the preparation of progress and budget reports. All the above must be done with minimal errors and utmost professionalism in an office whose priorities must adapt to evolving needs and demands from within the Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives and with strategic partners. The Experiential Programs Specialist will perform functions that require thorough knowledge of the Office's policies, procedures, and operations.

The Experiential Programs Specialist will provide programmatic experiential learning project/program management support and administration under the direction of the Executive Director for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. This position also involves engaging with multiple units across Interprofessional Health Initiatives including, but not limited to, the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice, the Office of Health Professions Advising, UNC Rural and collaborating units on campus. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting pan-university initiatives through partnership with many external practice and community partners to achieve project outcomes.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
This position must demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret policies and guidelines, as well as detailed knowledge of administrative office work processes. The successful candidate must have exceptional communication skills (both oral and written), a professional demeanor, and ability to work effectively as a member of a team and with diverse stakeholders. This position requires someone with a strong commitment to achieve quality in all activities. The incumbent must be skillful in organizing, planning and managing projects and administrative activities, be service-oriented and able to multitask in a demanding and constantly changing environment. The position requires someone who understands and upholds confidentiality of highly sensitive information. Proficiency with Microsoft office suite is a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Administrative experience in a higher education or healthcare environment. Experience with project management software and learning management systems.
