Job Title: Business Analyst, IT Operations - IT Budgeting Specialist

Job Description:

As a vital part of our IT Operations team, the Business Analyst specializing in IT budgeting plays a pivotal role in managing financial planning, operational efficiency, and strategic growth for an expansive IT budget exceeding $80 million. Responsible for supporting over 300 headcount, this position offers an opportunity to drive financial success through meticulous analysis and collaborative efforts.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Annual Budget Management: Collaborate with senior management to meticulously plan and manage an IT budget exceeding $80 million, ensuring cost control and resource optimization for over 300 headcount.


  • Monthly Financial Cycles: Collaborate with the IT Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to create and share detailed financial reports. This includes managing monthly reports, budgets, and forecasts related to operating expenses (Opex) and capital expenses (CAPEX).


  • Profitability and Cash Flow Improvement: Work on revenue budgeting and forecasting for products, regions, and particular areas (cost centers). The goal is to boost profitability and enhance cash flow. You will also identify differences between forecasted and actual performance so that senior management can take appropriate action.


  • Daily Procurement Oversight: Oversee purchase requisitions and purchase orders, including creation, receiving, and invoice processing. Monitor expiring contracts and notifying the business of upcoming expirations. Optimize cash flow and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data and Engineering Operations, Information Security, Applications, and Architecture Teams. Ensure the accuracy of input data and perform data analysis to support informed business decisions.


  • CAPEX Planning and Budgeting: Lead CAPEX planning and budgeting for new infrastructure and technology investments, ensuring strategic alignment and tracking ROI to support long-term business growth.


  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across diverse business functions and geographies, streamlining financial models (e.g., hosting services) to facilitate effective business reviews.


  • Financial Management Infrastructure: Direct monthly close and budgeting processes for expenses, and establish a comprehensive financial management infrastructure, inclusive of annual operating plans and ad hoc analysis.


  • Executive-Level Communications: Develop and deliver executive-level communications to engage stakeholders and drive transformational change.


  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct complex data analysis using Power BI and advanced Excel to deliver timely reports and actionable insights for senior leadership decision-making.


  • Cloud Chargeback Model Management: Manage and oversee the Cloud Chargeback model across AWS, Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud, exercising proficiency and accuracy in chargeback and showback models for cost allocation.


  • Cost Model Designing: Design efficient cost models for data center or hosting services, ensuring effective resource management. Provide updates and communicate the breakdown of cost to the businesses who consume the services.


  • Project Funding Support: Support monthly project funding by ensuring proper budget allocation and managing incremental funding.


  • Enterprise Chargeback/Showback Support: Assist with the enterprise-wide chargeback/showback of laptop and peripheral costs, ensuring accurate and efficient allocation.

Technical Competencies:



  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including queries, pivots, Vlookup, Hlookup, Xlookup, Sumifs, Indirect, Match)


  • Expertise in Power BI is essential, connecting to different source files and fundamental knowledge of connecting to tables and DAX coding (Data Analysis Expressions).


  • O365, SharePoint


  • Experience with Oracle


  • Proficiency in Jira and ServiceNow


  • BA/BS or equivalent educational background, we will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Supervises Operational Duties of Staff


  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience
