Job Description

NetImpact Strategies is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Argo CD, Kratix, Helm, Amazon EKS, and Crossplane. This role is critical to our platform engineering team and focuses on building and maintaining a scalable, secure, and automated cloud-native infrastructure to support our microservices-based applications

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage GitOps workflows using Argo CD for automated Kubernetes deployments.
  • Leverage Kratix to build and manage internal platform capabilities through a marketplace of composable, reusable resources.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy Helm charts for efficient Kubernetes application packaging and management.
  • Architect and manage secure, scalable Amazon EKS clusters, including autoscaling, upgrades, and adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize Crossplane to provision and manage cloud infrastructure declaratively, enabling Kubernetes-native control planes and extending GitOps to infrastructure resources.
  • Build and maintain Crossplane compositions and custom resource definitions (CRDs) to define reusable infrastructure blueprints.
  • Collaborate with platform and application teams to define and enforce infrastructure-as-code standards and reusable patterns.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines that integrate Kratix workflows and Argo CD-based deployment strategies.
  • Ensure security, observability, and compliance within Kubernetes clusters using tools such as IAM, Gatekeeper/OPA, and Prometheus.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize deployments, performance, and CI/CD pipelines across multiple cloud-native environments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Hands-on experience with Argo CD and GitOps methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Kratix and platform engineering concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience with Crossplane, including infrastructure composition and Kubernetes-native provisioning models.
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining Helm charts, including chart repositories and value management strategies.
  • In-depth experience managing Amazon EKS, including networking, security, IAM roles, and Kubernetes internals.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Knowledge of service meshes, Kubernetes RBAC, and secrets management solutions like AWS Secrets Manager or Vault.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.

Preferred

  • Experience in multi-tenant Kubernetes or internal developer platform (IDP) environments.
  • Familiarity with Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Kubernetes-native security practices.
  • Hands-on experience building infrastructure platforms using Crossplane and integrating them with GitOps workflows.
  • Contributions to or usage of open-source projects in the cloud-native ecosystem.
  • Relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.
  • Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
