National Grid is hiring a Manager of Technology Operations and Service. This is a hybrid position which can be based out of Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY or Syracuse, NY offices.

Job Purpose

Lead a team of Domain Architect and Engineering resources providing business and technology consulting to National Grid's enterprise colleagues

Key Accountabilities

Technical Leadership
* Provide technical support directly to our customers and technical teams on emerging trends.
* Monitor and redirect efforts and resources as appropriate to maximize results.
* Develop and cultivate relationships with direct reports, management, and vendors.
* Interface directly with client personnel at all levels as required to provide consistent, high quality technical support and to develop solutions.
* Regularly interact with business unit senior management on matters concerning customer engagements.
* Conduct regular opportunity reviews with direct reports to ensure closure of complex opportunities
* In concert with the broader technical teams develop and execute a customer-oriented strategy that solves customer business requirements

Coaching & Professional Development
* Ensure all direct reports complete training against assigned curriculum roadmaps in timely manner
* Conduct frequent, regular one on one sessions with each direct report
* Manage the performance process within the guidelines established by HR

Profitability and Cost Management
* Accelerate strategic service solutions bundles including IPT, Network Integration, Security and IT Solutions.
* Facilitate opportunity identification and partner with Business Units Solutions team.
* Look for the opportunities to reduce costs and increase productivity on Capex and Opex Programs
* Manage budget to 100% versus plan
o CPE, Network and Strategic Solution Customer Design
o RFP/RFI Response and support
o Networking / Customer Solution
o Pricing Assistance

Teamwork & Collaboration
* Provide vision, architectural oversight, and life cycle engineering for the National Grid Global Network infrastructure.
* Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the infrastructure through a detailed knowledge of the components and how they integrate and interact. The Data, Voice and Security Infrastructure components include:
o Cisco SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, WLAN
o Cisco Unified Communications
o Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) Cloud Proxy
o Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) Cloud Proxy
o DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) Infoblox
o Firewalls (Palo Alto / CheckPoint / Cisco ASA)
o Cisco FirePOWER IPS
o Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
o F5 Load Balancers LTM/GTM

Qualifications

* 8+ years in leadership positions developing, designing and architecting IT and/or managed telecommunications solutions
* 3-5+ years in customer facing positions directly managing a team of individual contributors (architecture, engineering, consulting)
* Strong cross functional project management skills
* Highly experienced (Subject Matter Expert) in at least 1 high growth technical discipline (Data Network, Security, IP Services)
* Strong presentation skills in both business and technical areas
* Demonstrated and verified strong customer and partner relationships
* Bachelor's degree with preference towards engineering or computer science
* Achieved Cisco Network/Security certification (CCNP, CCIE)

Salary

Waltham: $145k - $171k a year

Brooklyn:$156k - $183k a year

Syracuse:$129k- $152k a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
