Job Purpose
The Lead Strategist for Low-Moderate Income (LMI) customer segment, will project manage the regulatory filings and data analysis for the Disadvantaged Communities (DAC) in NY. Additionally, the strategist will support the development of Customer Segment plans for the LMI and DAC market in NY, as it relates to the overall 3- year Customer Strategy. This role will require working cross functionally to pull together information from Branding, Communications, Customer Advocates, Market Insights, Product verticals, Sales, Billing & Collections Strategy, Digital Experience and Customer Service teams into one central plan that is focused on customer needs, wants, and segment growth. Lastly, this role may require interaction as the Customer organizations liaison with the New York Public Service Commission (PSC).
Key Accountabilities
- Be seen as the DAC SME for all things data and project management. Establish, define, and maintain a deep understanding of LMI and DAC customer personas and market segment changes.
- Responsible for assessing the market and developing a plan to meet customer needs, set priorities, and find gaps in current offerings and services.
- Support the development of the overall customer segment and go-to-market strategy for the LMI and DAC segment. This is accomplished through the usage of data-driven analysis, leveraging input from stakeholders, and implementing best practices from other utilities and industries.
- Oversee and manage data requests for vulnerable customers. DAC and LMI analysis including reviewing customer demographics, usage, disconnects, arrears, etc.
- Manage Power BI dashboards and reporting.
- Project management of NY DAC and LMI processes where needed, such as the process to automate DAC customer identification. Additionally, responsible for project managing regulatory reports and rate case deliverables.
- Responsible for working cross-functionally with Data & Analytics, and IT teams to ensure DAC data is available for regulatory reporting and business analysis; including two annual CLCPA DAC reports.
- Liaison with Data & Analytics teams on data requests and needs of the business.
- Key liaison between Customer, Legal, Regulatory, and stakeholders.
- Support NY Consumer Advocates with data input and analysis to track towards annual goals.
Qualifications
- BA in business related field and 3+ years of experience as a business leader and leading cross functional work. Advance Degree in Policy, Social Work, or Management preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in utility operations, regulation, and clean energy is a plus.
- Ability and comfortability to lead cross functional projects that drive change, challenge the status quo, present to senior leadership, and deliver results.
- Knowledge and/or hands on experience in turning data analysis into actionable strategy.
- Experience engaging with advocacy groups or social service agencies focused on serving the needs of the LMI community. Direct experience working with low-income customers a plus.
- Experience in KPI measurement and analytics; Ability to navigate and generate data insights from various tools.
Salary $120,000 - $142,000 a year - Syracuse, NY $145,000 - $171,000 a year - Brooklyn, NY Salary commensurate with location and experience This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
