Responsibilities

McDowell Center for Children is an 28-bed full-service behavioral healthcare facility located in Dyersburg, TN. McDowell Center for Children also has our PHP/IOP daily program that runs daily 8am - 3:30 pm. McDowell Center for Children has been offering hope to individuals, families, and communities for over 25 years. McDowell Center for Children is providing quality mental health. Rivendell Behavioral Health Services strives to set the standard for excellence in the field of behavioral health care and maintains its leadership role by treating each patient as a respected individual of our community.

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs ongoing assessments of the behavioral and medical needs of the patients, assists in admission paperwork and processes, lead nursing model group sessions with patients, and each day accurately chart those observations of the patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for creating, maintaining and managing a therapeutic milieu within the treatment program to ensure safety of patients and staff. The Registered Nurse (RN) will demonstrate appropriate therapeutic boundaries with patients and coworkers. The Registered Nurse (RN) operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Rules and Regulations of Registered Nurses outlined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing and according to agency operating policies, protocols, and standards.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

Current license to practice nursing in Tennessee (or eligible to receive or renew).
Current CPR or BLS certification. (offered at facility)
Current Handle with Care training. (offered at facility)
Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 11-17yrs.
