As the connective tissue between brands, the AdRise DMP team is focused on building a data marketing platform that enables first-party audience creation, third-party data integrations, and scalable data pipelines.

In this role, you will architect and develop backend services on AWS, leveraging modern languages (Go, Java, Scala), Terraform CDK, and AWS Kinesis to build scalable and highly concurrent systems. You will also play a key role in maintaining and evolving our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) while designing robust solutions in a fast-evolving environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and build backend services on AWS, focusing on high reliability, security, and scalability.

  • Develop services in Scala and support existing services written in Go and Rust.

  • Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK.

  • Work closely with data engineers and the Data Strategy team to design, develop, and optimize software systems that streamline data integration and enable insight into the big picture of our data ecosystem.

  • Integrate third-party data sources (e.g., Trade Desk) into the AdRise platform.

  • Optimize highly concurrent services to handle large-scale data processing.

  • Guide junior engineers through mentorship and conduct thorough code reviews.

  • Troubleshoot complex backend issues, ensuring efficiency and scalability across platforms.

  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and propose relevant improvements.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Proven experience in backend development, particularly with highly concurrent services.

  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation).

  • Proficiency in JVM languages (Java, Scala, or Kotlin) and Go (secondary) for backend development.

  • Strong experience managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CDK.

  • Familiarity with modern RESTful and gRPC API designs and implementations.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

  • Ability to design solutions to ambiguous problems and collaborate on the product roadmap.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience in advertising technology or familiarity with ad bidding platforms.

  • Background in third-party data integrations (e.g., Trade Desk, LiveRamp).
