Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Crescent Hotels. The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.

Job description:

A catering sales manager targets and coordinates catering sales efforts. The job involves initiation and development of quality leads to ensure growth of catering sales.

The primary responsibility of a catering sales manager is to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through catering lead generation and catering sales marketing. The sales manager solicits new catering customers through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques.

Other important duties include booking, selling, planning and coordinating all special social events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, conducting catering sales presentations and catering sales calls also falls under the purview of a catering sales manager job.

Duties and responsibilities:



  • Planning menus
  • Advertising vacancies and recruiting staff
  • Making sure that staff is fully trained
  • Keeping staff motivated to provide the highest standard of service
  • Organizing shifts and rotas
  • Managing stock control financial planning and managing budgets
  • Meeting with suppliers and customers
  • Discussing contract requirements with customers


Requirements:



  • Proficient in English
  • Leadership experience in fine dining or catering services required.
  • Experience in a university setting is preferred
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills

Educational Background:



  • Knowledge of various food service styles (i.e., ethnic weddings, and butler style service). Knowledge of menu development / familiarity with food and beverage cost control. Two or four year degree from a college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills including excellent knowledge of Word and Excel software programs. Proficiency in one or more of the following systems: Marriott CI/TY.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, accuracy and speed to meet deadlines.
  • Multi-task prioritizes, organize, delegate work and follow through. Analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to plan and develop procedures on all sales programs.
  • Must be able to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Keep current in event management trends.
  • Attend community events and industry meetings.
  • Knowledge of market trends, competition and key guests of the hotel.
  • Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal.
