Description
Under the direction of the VP-Chief Pharmacy Officer & Director of Pharmacy Operations and Ambulatory Manager the Pharmacy Immunization and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality pharmacy services by providing leadership, direction, and expertise in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of services related to immunizations and medication inventory. The Immunization and Inventory Coordinator will assist in the oversight of the procurement, storage, distribution, purchasing, and inventory control processes.
The position requires coordinating quality services, Clinical Services with the purchasing department of the Pharmacy Division in efforts to integrate, implement, and develop procedures, policies, and protocols pertaining to immunizations, medication inventory, and promoting population health, along with research in those areas. The Immunization and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for meeting with other hospital departments to assist with decision support analysis, as well as, the creation and maintenance of plans regarding immunizations, to ultimately provide high-quality comprehensive pharmaceutical care appropriate to the patient population. The Immunization and Inventory Coordinator must comply with current departmental and institutional policies, as well as, regulations set aside by regulatory bodies (i.e. The Food and Drug Administration, Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Health, The Joint Commission). Pharmacy Immunization and Inventory Coordinator will assist with the oversight of pharmacy purchasing personnel and is responsible for attending regular committee meetings including the mandatory staff meetings. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD (Required) Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Licensed and Registered Pharmacist in DC In compliance with DC CE Credit requirements (Required) Minimum Work Experience 1 year 1-year minimum experience preferred in hospital pharmacy services and/or pharmaceutical services-related therapies. (Preferred) Required Skills/Knowledge Decision making and judgement. Professional competence and common Equipment and basic knowledge of computer applications, ie., MS Word, email, etc.) Required Licenses and Certifications Pharmacist Registered and Licensed in DC, VA & MD 180 Days (Required) Immunization Certificate 180 Days (Required) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) 180 Days (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 180 Days (Required) Functional Accountabilities Technical Expertise and Leadership
