Overview

The Senior Director, North America Marketing will set up and refine the marketing strategies in the US & Canada for GIVLAARI & OXLUMO and will lead the NA Marketing Team to develop and execute impactful initiatives directed to health-care professionals and patients.

This is a pivotal position within the Global Rare Business Unit, and a core member of the North America region leadership team. The role requires establishing productive partnerships with other functions at Alnylam, and to develop a high-performing marketing team focused on results.

We are looking for a driven, highly collaborative and humble individual, who is committed to people, people development and cross-functional partnership. This role will report to the VP, Marketing & Programs for Rare Diseases. This is a hybrid position that requires regular attendance at Alnylam HQ located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HCP & Patient commercialization strategies across multiple brands in different therapeutic areas in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders - inclusive of the sales, business ops, customer insights and market access
  • Drive US insights into Acute Hepatic Porphyria and Primary Hyperoxaluria therapeutic areas through customer interactions and working with Market Research.
  • Identify, strategize, plan and execute incremental growth opportunities for the different brands in the US and Canada markets
  • Create and implement innovative market development, diagnostic and competitive strategies for the US and Canada markets
  • Execute US-focused HCP engagement and patient initiatives in collaboration with medical affairs patient advocacy. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and national key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the disease areas
  • Lead and develop the North America marketing team to achieve high performance and maximize potential aligned with company values
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships deep within other functional areas and internal strategic partners (i.e. Medical Affairs, Patient Services, etc.)
  • Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and compliance stakeholders to ensure compliant development and execution of marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts required; MBA preferred
  • 12+ years of commercial and/or marketing experience in the US pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with experience in managing rare disease products
  • Proven experience in developing HCP and Patient Marketing strategies and tactics that have delivered strong commercial results, including in competitive markets
  • Experience in preparing and delivering senior level presentations and communication with executive presence
  • Proven people and leadership skills and the ability to collaborate in a matrix environment
