Description

Can you apply exceptional systems thinking and innovative technical methods to solve some of the country's most significant defense problems?

If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

We are seeking a systems engineer who enjoys a fast-paced environment and will improve our ability to deliver outstanding technical solutions to complex command and control (C2) problems. We will support your professional development as a go-to person for understanding of defense systems architecture, operational concepts, and requirements. We give you the autonomy you want, the support you need, and all the opportunity you can handle. You will learn something new every day, with a focus on making real operational impact.

As a Command and Control Systems Engineer:
  • Your primary responsibility will be to provide systems engineering proficiency and direction to sophisticated air, missile, and multi-domain defense programs. As a member of a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team, you will develop operational concepts, construct architectural solutions, analyze requirements, and conduct trade studies -- all within the context of a disciplined digital engineering development process.
  • You will prepare for and participate in technical meetings and program reviews, providing insight to government, contractor, and research laboratory participants. Expect to be the one decision makers listen to when key technical questions arise.
  • You will contribute to the evolution of our Sector's Digital Engineering capability. Whether the system is fielded equipment that needs new capability or only a sketch on a whiteboard, you will figure out the best tools for the job and integrate them into a growing digital engineering ecosystem.
