Job Summary Shape the Future of Campus Dining - Director of Food Service Operations Location: St. Edward's University \| Austin, Texas Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a motivated, hands-on Director of Food Service Operations to support our newest account at St. Edward's University in the heart of Austin, Texas. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the launch and growth of a campus dining program-bringing energy, innovation, and excellence to every meal served. What You'll Be Doing: Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day foodservice operations across multiple locations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and service excellence. Team Leadership: Guide and develop frontline supervisors and staff, building a positive, performance-driven culture. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all food quality, sanitation, and regulatory standards are consistently met or exceeded. Client & Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with students, staff, and campus partners to ensure satisfaction and drive retention. Support Strategic Initiatives: Partner with the General Manager on key projects and process improvements aligned with Chartwells' goals. Preferred Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills Proficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet ServSafe Certified This is your chance to help build something exciting while working with a company that values innovation, growth, and great food.
