Description
Summary: The Manager of the WIC Clinic is responsible for the daily, monthly and annual operations of the WIC Clinics. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination and development of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa WIC Clinics including nutrition education, breastfeeding education and support and community services.
- Responsible for development, implementation, and appropriate documentation of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa WIC and the Texas Department of Health State Agency (TDHSA) financial budget, projections and appropriate billing.
- Ensures adherence to the planned budget, projections, and goals within the overall context of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care operations and TDH SA contract.
- Supervises, evaluates and coordinates CHRISTUS Santa Rosa WIC associates and volunteers.
- Criteria based evaluations are written and distributed annually with associates and are appropriate to position and responsibility.
- Arranges for and/or conducts in service training as appropriate for personnel development.
- Establishes written Local Agency policies and revises policies and procedures appropriate to the WIC Wellness Center program, hospital standards, and other regulatory agencies/directives. Responsible for State Agency policies and their enforcement at the Local Agency level.
- Maintains ongoing Quality Assurance and Improvement activities particular to each program. Measures effectiveness of operations and reports to appropriate regulatory agencies and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Performance Improvement Committee.
- Designs staffing model and clinic operating sites which reflects a plan to meet TDH WIC goals, objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Coordinates participant and enrollee activities within the WIC Wellness Center to promote continuity and collaboration between disciplines.
- Develops and executes an annual outreach plan to expand programs.
- Demonstrates competence to provide client care responsibilities in a manner that meets age- specific and developmental needs of clients served by the WIC Program.
- Appropriately adapts assigned client assessment, education, and referral procedures and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs to each client served.
- Takes personal responsibility to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
- Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Education/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university;
- Registered Nurse licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Texas with current registration or a professional in health care management with a minimum of three years of management experience. Consideration will be given for suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience in lieu of the stated education requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience in operating a medical program for a period of three years, including two years in a capacity where supervisory and management ability was demonstrated.
- Previous TDH WIC Program experience preferred.
- Previous Obstetric and/or Pediatric experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- If RN, licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Texas with current registration or permit.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- If Nutritionist, a minimum of 24 hours of nutrition are required on "official" transcript.
