The San Franciscooffice of SmithGroupis looking for aEntry Level Plumbing Designerto join our team.

Working with us, you will:



  • Assist in the plumbing engineering effort by applying engineering fundamentals to plumbing engineering design, typically in association with CAD or BIM input.
  • Perform CAD or BIM production, coordination, and presentation support for assigned plumbing engineering work.
  • Revise, review, and coordinate construction documents.
  • Design portions of projects with some supervision.
  • Work on design projects performing tasks such as preparing preliminary designs.
  • Perform routine design tasks in support of projects.



An ideal candidate has:



  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field from a technical school or college.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience with CAD/Revit and plumbing design.
  • A solid knowledge of mathematical concepts.
  • An understanding of the three-dimensional aspect of building design and CAD/BIM input.
  • The ability to communicate ideas well both graphically and verbally.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
  • The ability to contribute to and participate in a team environment.
  • LEED Green Associate accreditation preferred.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $72,000 to $79,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
