Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Housing Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing community outreach strategies, building partnerships with landlords. Housing Coordinator actively engages in landlord outreach, recruitment, and education to expand access to affordable and permanent housing. This position provides direct client services, assisting participants throughout the housing process-from orientation and housing search to move-in and post-placement support. The Housing Coordinator works closely with realtors, property owners, and managers to advocate for clients, and sustain long-term housing placements. Responsibilities also include educating stakeholders on available subsidies, security deposit assistance, the benefits of a single point of contact, and the program's high housing retention rate. Work is performed in both shelter and field settings, including outreach in the community and visits to current or prospective housing units. The Housing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting participants' self-sufficiency, community integration, and long-term housing stability.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with intake coordinator to update and maintain active list of partnerships and available units.

* Research apartments, landlords, and rental opportunities for our participants.

* Recruit landlords not currently working with our housing programs and develop a wellmatched pipeline of landlords.

* Call landlords, making a positive first impression, to promote Endeavors and educate them about the benefits of working with our participants.

* Perform outreach with potential landlords by visiting them and calling them regularly.

* Maintain great landlord relationships and ensure that needs are met in a positive and timely manner.

* Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, contractors and the community.

* Maintain a listing of current vacancies in our areas of responsibility and landlord database.

* Contact rental property owners with information regarding their rights and responsibilities as needed.

* Assess landlords to ensure they will be a good match for our client's needs.

* Research company-specific needs, conditions in the marketplace, and develop leads for staff working with clients on housing search.

* Assist participants in locating housing of their choice.

* Provide participants with appropriate housing vacancy information.

* Coordinating lease process with property owners.

* Apply knowledge of residential lease agreements to educate clients of their tenant rights and responsibilities.

* Provide demographic information as necessary to program leadership.

* Maintain accurate records including travel expenses.

* Maintain client records both in written and electronic form.

* Act as liaison between tenants and property owners at the direction of management.

* Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree and/or a minimum of two-year degree in Human Services related field or an equivalent amount of experience in the Human Services or Business field is required in lieu of degree. Real Estate license is a plus.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience in Human Services or Business field. Experience in "Housing First" philosophy and strategies, tenant's rights and responsibilities as well as "strength based" case management, is a plus.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
