The Department of Veterinary Population Medicine (VPM) at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in St. Paul, invites applications for an outstanding contract (non-tenure track) part-time (50% appointment) faculty position in Theriogenology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, and in accordance with Collegiate and University policies.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide high-quality instruction to students in the DVM curriculum and support large animal theriogenology services at the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). This includes working within the Piper Equine Hospital and the Large Animal Hospital. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching veterinary theriogenology and reproductive physiology across multiple species. Teaching duties will include didactic lectures, laboratories and clinical instruction for DVM students, interns and residents. Additional responsibilities include participation in clinical rounds and seminars, as well as supporting the Large Animal Medicine and Surgery clinical team with day patient and emergency care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a collegial, collaborative approach and willingness to contribute and participate in departmental initiatives, programs and committees. Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent degree.
Board certification by the American College of Theriogenology.
Demonstrated expertise in reproductive physiology and clinical theriogenology teaching.

Outstanding clinical, interpersonal and teaching skills.
Experience and ability to work with culturally distinct groups of people and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD or equivalent degree in aspects of veterinary medicine relevant to the position.
Clinical, training and/or research interests that complement the strengths of the current large and/ small animal faculty.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $113,000 - $217,000 annually @ 50%; depending on education/qualifications/experience and rank

Time Appointment: 50%-74% Appointment
