JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate fora Research Technologistin the laboratory of Prof. Song Tan in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: * express proteins and protein complexes in E. coli * purify proteins, protein complexes and protein/DNA complexes using low pressure and high performance chromatography * analyze proteins and protein/DNA complexes by electrophoresis, spectroscopy, immunoassays and enzyme activity assays * maintain written and electronic laboratory records * assist with ordering laboratory supplies * maintain laboratory equipment This position requiresaBachelor'sdegree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biological science, chemistry or physics. This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
