Position Summary:

The Performing and Visual Arts department at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Printmaking and Drawing. The department seeks candidates with expertise in various methods of printmaking including screen printing, intaglio, block printing, letter press, and lithography. Candidates will be responsible for teaching all levels of printmaking as well as foundation level drawing with additional studio courses as needed. The ideal candidate will bring experience and innovation with traditional modes of printmaking and cross-disciplinary integration. Successful candidates must have an MFA with a proven track record of teaching experience and professional exhibitions.

This is a full-time, academic year (9 month) position with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2025. Salary for this position is $39,000 per academic year. The University of Wisconsin System has a nationally top ranked retirement plan and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:



  • Teach printmaking courses at all levels, including techniques such as screen printing, intaglio, block printing, letterpress, and lithography.
  • Teach foundation-level drawing courses.
  • Provide additional studio courses as needed.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that incorporate both traditional printmaking techniques and cross-disciplinary approaches.
  • Foster a creative and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Maintain professional exhibitions and stay current with developments in the field of printmaking.


What You'll Need to Succeed:



  • Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking or a closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching printmaking techniques, including but not limited to screen printing, block printing, intaglio, lithography, and letterpress.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the college level, with a proven track record of engaging students and fostering a creative learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to integrate traditional printmaking methods with innovative, cross-disciplinary approaches.
