What You Will Do:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Embedded Software Tester to join our team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with co-op and internship experience in software testing who are passionate about ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded software applications. You will collaborate with software developers and systems engineers to identify issues, validate fixes, and contribute to the overall success of our embedded systems. Get excited! Johnson Controls Advanced Development and Engineering Center (JADEC)

How You Will Do It:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for embedded software applications.

  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded systems.

  • Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and contribute to test strategies.

  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools.

  • Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.

  • Analyze test results and generate reports to communicate findings to the team.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and debugging of embedded software issues.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in embedded software testing.

What We Look For:
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 1-2 years of experience in software testing, preferably with embedded systems (internships and co-op experiences are acceptable).

  • Basic understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.

  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Application Life Cycle Management software (ALM).

  • Familiarity with automated testing tools or frameworks.

  • Basic knowledge of hardware testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) is a plus
