THE JOB:

The Housekeeping Training Manager at Bellagio is responsible for leading the training activities for the Housekeeping department. This role will act as both a manager and mentor for new hires within the Housekeeping department, guiding them through a full training curriculum to develop the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for success, including evaluating their progress throughout their 90-day period. This position will also support other Housekeeping managers to ensure they are providing ongoing training and support to their newly hired employees. Additionally, this position will proactively recognize further training opportunities within the department and develop subsequent training in order for the Housekeeping team to achieve and maintain a high level of service, consistent with MGM Resorts standards.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead the comprehensive training program for new Housekeeping team members, covering core knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success.

  • Facilitate ongoing training on safety, service excellence, and company standards.

  • Act as a cultural ambassador by coaching and developing new hires through classroom and one-on-one sessions.

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of new hires, conducting performance reviews at key milestones.

  • Report training outcomes to the Director of Housekeeping and recommend further training or next steps.

  • Manage the department's training schedule and engage with new hires before their start date.

  • Lead the implementation of new company or property programs requiring housekeeping team training.

  • Collaborate with Housekeeping leaders to align training activities with departmental objectives.

  • Support Housekeeping leaders in providing ongoing training and accountability during the introductory review periods.

  • Identify areas for improvement and develop targeted training programs to address skill gaps.

  • Regularly evaluate the training program to ensure adherence to departmental policies and effectiveness.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Housekeeping supervisory experience or relative experience.

  • 3+ Years of Prior Relevant Supervisory experience in a major hotel/report complex.

  • Previous experience with cleaning procedures, chemicals, and Housekeeping equipment.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a Union (bargaining unit) property.

  • Fluency in English required; fluency in secondary (Spanish) language.
