Job Summary Arrowhead Products is a privately owned aerospace company based in Los Alamitos, CA, specializing in high and low-pressure ducting systems and high precision components for commercial air, defense, and space markets. We are experiencing significant growth and seek a dedicated Vice President of Finance who will play a hands-on role in driving financial performance and operational effectiveness across our 700-employee, two-shift production environment. The Vice President of Finance will take an active role in overseeing all financial operations and will work collaboratively with production and operational teams. This hands-on finance leader will ensure that financial processes align with manufacturing objectives, driving cost efficiencies and supporting the company's growth strategy. The ideal candidate will bring a practical approach to finance, focusing on budgeting, financial reporting, and implementing effective financial practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and manage financial operations, including preparation and analysis of timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
- Collaborate with production and operational teams to implement effective cost management strategies and ensure financial practices align with manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and manage departmental operating budgets, ensuring financial discipline and supporting operational efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to mitigate risks and enhance the reliability of financial reporting.
- Conduct regular inventory valuations and ensure accurate tracking of inventory quantities and costs.
- Prepare and review cost proposals for government contracts, ensuring that pricing strategies align with project requirements and maintain profitability while meeting all regulatory standards.
- Analyze financial performance and report variances, ensuring management is informed of significant issues affecting financial outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory and reporting requirements, including FAR regulations.
- Act as a liaison with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to accounting standards and practices.
- Continuously assess, improve, and implement financial policies and accounting practices that drive operational excellence.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance management, preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Core Competencies
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, job cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and the impact of regulations on financial reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, with demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Physical demands
- Physical demands include the ability to bend occasionally and sit, stand, or walk frequently.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise IT, finance and accounting staff, providing guidance and ensuring effective performance
Special Requirements
- The potential for periodic domestic and international travel, as may be or may become required, is understood to be an integral requirement of this assignment.
