We are seeking anUnderground Training Advisorto ensure our training programs are identified, developed, and deployed effectively. This role is crucial for supporting our underground project and the transition to steady-state underground operations. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution:Assess training needs for various roles within the Workforce Plan, focusing on safe and efficient mining operations.
- Training Development:Create and implement training solutions addressing cultural, leadership, and professional development needs.
- Compliance:Develop an MSHA-approved training plan in accordance with MSHA Part 48 regulations and deliver MSHA Underground miner training.
- Program Management:Maintain the site training needs analysis and matrix, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:Support the operations team in enhancing operator performance and implement performance appraisal systems.
- Safety Standards:Participate in gap training needs analysis to establish and meet safety standards and improvement targets.
- Advisory Role:Provide training and development advice to site leaders and employees, participate in audits and assessments, and manage training documentation.
Required Skills/Experience
- Experience:3+ years in metalliferous underground mining.
- Safety Commitment:A dedication to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Excellent relationship-building and communication skills at all levels.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Regulatory Knowledge:Understanding of MSHA Part 48 regulations and MSHA certification.
- Technical Proficiency:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power BI, Articulate Storyline, and Rise 360.

- Standards Compliance:Abide by Company Health and Safety standards and report any unsafe acts or conditions to a supervisor or a member of the management team.
- Safety Equipment:Ensure the proper use of all safety equipment, including lanyards, warning signs, and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation.
- Personal Protective Equipment:When performing work in a mine environment, personal protective equipment is required, including a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and, as needed, a respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment.
- Regulatory Knowledge:Must have knowledge of OSHA and MSHA legislation and know how to effectively use Safety Data Sheets (SDS). MSHA Certification is required by site.
- Risk Assessments:Complete Risk Assessments/JHA for each new and unusual task to ensure safety standards are met.

Where you'll be working Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States.
