The RTO/ISO Policy Director is a critical role leading policy development and execution in support of NGV's US portfolio with a primary focus on driving growth in its competitive transmission business. The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and partners with the RTO Business Development Directors and Commercial Directors in the (CCO) organization to advance policies that are favorable to National Grid and competitively position the organization to win. The RTO/ISO Policy Director is responsible for the monitoring, analysis and proactive policy engagement across the RTOs/ISOs (currently NE-ISO, NYISO, MISO and PJM with opportunity to expand into other regions) to support successful market entries and commercial market formation. The role will be responsible for tracking, advocating and advancing policy positions across the RTO/ISO's and within their respective States including, but not limited to the Public Service Commissions, state agencies and/or their equivalent governmental bodies. The Director will manage team members in each RTO/ISO ensuring best practices and coordination of positions horizontally across the RTOs. The role requires a strong understanding of the relevant federal and state regulatory environments and policies to advance policy advocacy holistically. The role requires close coordination with Corporate Affairs (Government Affairs, External Communications and Stakeholder Management) to align and advance policy execution. The Director will collaborate and coordinate with all internal policy and regulatory stakeholder and advisory groups to ensure alignment at an enterprise level and ensure NGV's perspective is shared and considered. This role is a unique opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, motivated, forward-thinking, commercially oriented team; to interact with and influence decisions makers; and identify and solve complex challenges facing large-scale energy development across generation, transmission and energy storage. * Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience working with a ISO / RTO, State Utility Commission, Utility, energy developer or as a consultant to these industries More Information Salary Downstate NY $204,000 - $240,000 a year Upstate NY $170,000 - $200,000 a year New England MA $190,000 - 224,000 a year This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
