The Senior Data Analyst, Formulary Management Services (FMS) supports the oversight of rebate management through financial and therapeutic class modeling, forecasting and analysis. The FMS Senior Data Analyst conducts and oversees various analyses in support of rebate contract terms with Optum clients based upon drug utilization and trends. Responsibilities also include managing complex financial models around drug utilization and trend, establishing ongoing profitability targets, performance reporting, and associated financial reporting and forecasting using Business Intelligence tools like Power BI.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead development and implementation of Power BI dashboards
  • Create intricate DAX calculations, complex SQL queries, and proactively optimize workflows
  • Create and manage ETL pipelines using Microsoft Azure / Databricks
  • Data mining and analysis related to drug utilization and rebates for the PBM segment
  • Define new metrics and identify leading indicators of key business outcomes
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders on different teams to prioritize analyses
  • Provide analysis of new product offerings and prospective clients including identifying risk and savings opportunities around rebate aggregation

Required Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of analysis experience, including data manipulation, actionable insights and communicating to stakeholders
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL, SAS, PYTHON, Databricks, Azure Data Factory
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI including complex calculations, filters, and visualizations
  • Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Tableau or similar BI tool
  • Advance proficiency with ALTERYX including In-Database tools
  • PBM or healthcare experience
  • Familiarity with PBM Commercial, Managed Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange, and LTC claims and rebates
  • Experience in communicating and presenting information to internal and external customers
  • Experience working with PBM data, pharmacy prescription claims data, or similar medical claims data
  • Cloud Services like Azure / AWS

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
