Position Summary

The Sr Director, Electric Risk & Compliance is responsible for enabling the business to manage Compliance & Risk in key areas of the enterprise. Seeks to create and sustain risk management, audit, compliance, and security capability to support PG&E business goals.

Note: This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Vice President Electric Transmission & Distribution Engineering.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple programs (loss control, quantitative enterprise and operational risk management and third-party risk management) for the purposes of facilitating effective risk management for the organization.
  • Leads company-wide quantitative enterprise risk and operational management program designed to deliver risk informed, data driven decision making and ultimately measurable risk reduction for the enterprise overall.
  • Establishes and manages the frameworks, models, and governance forums for line of business risk owners to measure risk and risk reduction, aligns risk management objectives with investment planning decisions, develops quality metrics, evaluates the effectiveness of mitigation plans, and reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Triennially, leads the development of two risk-related rate case proceedings (Safety Model Assessment Proceeding and Risk Assessment Mitigation Phase) and incorporates into General Rate Case filings.
  • Builds and maintains relationships across multiple stakeholder groups, including all internal LOB's, California Investor-Owned Utilities, intervenors, academics and commission staff.
  • Serves as company spokesperson and advocate for risk related items at the California Public Utility Commission and in the industry more broadly through participation in senior leadership industry forums and service on panels on risk management topics. Co-chairs VP-level Enterprise Risk Committee and prepares enterprise and operational risk review materials for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Establishes and oversees Third Party Risk Management program designed to mitigate supplier risk while maintaining reasonable procurement timelines and providing transparency of risk decisions in the LOBs through exception risk reporting.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle of the range ($260,000 - $275,000), the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $205,000

Bay Area Maximum: $349,000

OR

California (outside of the Bay Area) Minimum: $195,000

California (outside of the Bay Area) Maximum: $332,000

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of successful professional experience with risk management, compliance management, audit or utility operations management.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership experience, leading and developing strong teams.

Desired

  • Master's degree in business, Finance or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through presentations and individual discussions with board members, senior management, directors, managers and employees
  • Excellent communication skills and attitude necessary to establish and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of management and personnel
  • Independent judgment.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
