Job Summary Dorman Products, a $2B+ global supplier of aftermarket automotive parts with 3,000+ contributors and 28 sites across the globe, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Dayton Parts, LLC team located at our HQ in Colmar, PA. You will be responsible for designing new leaf springs & maintaining legacy parts. You will also interface with our manufacturing sites located in Harrisburg, PA and Durant, OK. Primary Duties * Product design and engineering of leaf springs, alongside other categories of truck parts * Provide support to Product Manager(s) & Procurement Specialist(s) on product development projects * Develop Design Validation Plans for truck parts * Create leaf spring design records for manufacturing handoff * Create RFQ packages to communicate technical requirements to supplier(s) * Convert existing conventional engineering documentation to electronic medium * Maintain engineering documentation on all manufactured leaf springs * Assist Technical and Customer Service personnel in interpretation of engineering drawings * Inspect and evaluate vendor samples and first production run parts * Maintain product quality documentation to accepted industry standards as applicable to the Product Engineering function * Assist Quality team in resolution of QC issues * Assist in development and facilitate implementation of procedures, forms, and systems for the product engineering function * Assist in development research and production of technical and product marketing materials Qualifications * Reverse engineering or product development experience * Firm grasp of engineering concepts with demonstrated experience designing mechanical systems and products * Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar * Thorough knowledge of GD&T drafting techniques * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access * Exceptional mechanical, technical, measurement, problem-solving skills, and reasoning ability * Ability to communicate effectively and clearly * Self-motivated and team player * Experience in cross-functional team Education / Experience * Technical degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience; or * Associate degree with 5+ years of experience #LI-NO1 #DaytonParts #DormanProducts Dorman Products is an equal opportunity employer; we value a combination of ideas, perspectives, and cultures at our company.
