Description and Requirements

As an OEM Customization Test Engineer at Lenovo, you will lead the realization of customer requirements through Proof of Concepts, testing, validation, and evaluation of partner solutions as well as third-party products. Leveraging Lenovo's existing product portfolio, you will customize offerings for unique OEM solutions and help customers validate technical solution requirements. You will develop technical relationships with key alliance partners, suppliers, and integrators to ensure Lenovo meets market needs. Additionally, you will provide feedback to Lenovo product development teams and engage in specific testing and certifications for the OEM business.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in pre-sales customer issue debugging and data collection.
  • Conduct performance tests and benchmarking on customer solutions.
  • Perform compatibility and stress testing for customer proprietary hardware.
  • Provide technical assistance in compliance and certification of hardware and software for various industries.
  • Develop Proof of Concepts (POC) based on customer requirements, including hardware, software, and third-party offerings.
  • Setup POCs for customers to review and benchmark results.
  • Provide clear documentation for POC, demos, testing and problems resolutions.
  • Assist with test plans and stay engaged with internal & external teams during solution development.
  • Set and manage expectations around solutions, both internally and externally.
  • Evaluate customer solutions for optimization and best alignment with Lenovo products and services.
  • Understand emerging technologies and products and Lenovo's strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with OEM Solution Architects, Customers, Sales team, and extended Lenovo teams.
  • Manage lab inventory, expense control, ordering test equipment, labeling, and storing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Ability to work in person at the OEM Engineering Lab in Morrisville, NC.
  • Knowledge of PC hardware components and operating systems (Windows and Linux)
  • Programming or scripting background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in computer hardware/software testing, focused on workstations, edge devices and desktops.
  • Desired experience with Linux OS, AI on video streams, processing and image, and machine learning applications.
  • Preferable experience in Linux Shell, Perl, Python, or Windows PowerShell scripting.
  • Highly desirable Linux kernel debugging skills.
  • Excellent team spirit and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and coordinate both internal and external resources.
  • Strong self-motivation and learning ability, with the capacity to handle multiple complex tasks under pressure.
