Responsibilities

Iron EagleX is seeking a Data Scientist to apply machine learning models and advanced analytics to a large variety of business problems. This role requires collaboration with business stakeholders to identify high value predictive modeling, work with engineering teams to set up necessary infrastructure and processes to support predictive analytics. As well as develop, maintain, and continuously improve analytical models that support ongoing business needs. Remote Position supporting Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, NC.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

    Solve complex data problems, discovering fresh insights and delivering data to the user that is timely and establishes unparalleled trust and confidence in the data and services of our customers.
  • Support Classified Data Science work involving R, Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • Implement and adapt a variety of machine learning capabilities, from classical statistics to foundation models in natural language processing and computer vision, to disparate data sources in order to extract insights.
  • Work closely with business and operational customers to understand requirements and their use of data, systems, and tools.
  • Provide interpretation of new data sources relevant to our user community and recommend ways to apply the data to identify unique insights.
  • Identify and analyze data shortfalls, hidden insights or anomalies and make recommendations on ways to apply the data and help to codify new data collection or system requirements.


Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with big data technologies and applying large scale Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.
  • Data cleaning, ETL, analysis, and visualization.
  • Mathematical modeling and statistics.
  • Strong programming background proficiency in Python, R and SQL
  • Experience using Git for version control.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
  • Experience with Python libraries including NumPy, SciPy, Matlotlib, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Experience with developing in a Linux environment.
  • Experience in a variety of ML/AI algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, GenAI, etc.).
  • Experience with Docker containers, to include containerizing models and writing Dockerfiles.
  • Experience working with data sets from multiple disparate sources, to include unstructured data.
  • Ability to communicate data analysis results in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be able to define and document appropriate advanced analytic methods, predictive analysis, pattern analysis, and the like.
  • Define and document appropriate advanced analytic methods for selection, categorization, and predictive modeling.
  • Create algorithms or predictive models that can be put into production, working closely with backend developers, cybersecurity professionals, and DevOps engineers.
  • Actively monitor algorithms and provide recommendations to update as needed.
  • Develop and document methodologies for analyzing all types of data and determine patterns in the data.
  • Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in software development and prototyping
  • Military experience a plus
  • Command Experience a plus
  • Familiarity with managing security requirements and container hardening
  • Familiarity with the use of CI/CD pipelines in machine learning applications
  • Familiarity with API development and application
  • Experience in programming on classified environments
  • Experience with using pre-built frontend frameworks in machine learning (e.g. Streamlit, Gradio)
  • Experience with identifying relationships, patterns and factors that drive data sets using statistical methods such as regression, correlations, clustering, and principal component analysis.
  • Extensive experience integrating, applying, and adapting foundation models in natural language processing and computer vision
  • Ability to examine how data from multiple disparate sources creates relationships, patterns, associations and other factors that drive data sets and visualizations.
  • Experience with defining new data collection methods as well as new system requirements for processing and visualizing data.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree in a relevant technical field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, and physics.

Security Clearance

  • Active Secret Clearance required at time of hire. Interim Secret may be acceptable. Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance and SCI access based on program requirements.
