Technical Manufacturing Associate Employment Type: Contract To Hire Yoh is seeking an experienced Technical Mechanical Associate with solid industry experience in soldering and a background in mechanical assembly to join our startup med device client in the East Bay. The ideal candidate will have experience in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, biotechnology, or mechanical fields. This role requires a high level of precision with medical equipment, adherence to industry standards, and the ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks as part of the soldering process. Position Title: Technical Mechanical Associate -(Soldering and Assembly) Location: Pleasanton, CA Compensation:$30-35/hour DOE Type: Contract to hire, (perm based on performance) Hours: 8AM - 5PM
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality soldering operations on various materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations (e.g., IPC, J-STD).
- Conduct component preparation, including cleaning, fitting, and alignment, ensuring proper handling of materials and components.
- Handle and operate soldering equipment such as hand soldering tools, reflow ovens, and wave soldering machines, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform light mechanical assembly tasks, including fitting, adjusting, and assembling components to ensure proper functionality.
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and schematics to execute soldering and assembly tasks accurately.
- Inspect and verify the quality of solder joints, components, and assemblies, ensuring compliance with established quality control standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve soldering and assembly issues.
- Maintain soldering equipment and tools, performing routine maintenance and calibration as necessary.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records, including time sheets, material usage, and quality control checks.
- Perform light packing and shipping duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in soldering (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) or related fields preferred.
- Hands-on experience in soldering, with a strong background in aerospace, medical device, biotechnology, or mechanical industries.
- Proficiency in soldering techniques, including hand soldering, surface-mount technology (SMT), and through-hole soldering.
- Solid understanding of mechanical assembly, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of material properties, soldering techniques, and industry standards (e.g., IPC, J-STD-001).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Familiarity with California safety regulations and environmental guidelines, including OSHA standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in soldering for the aerospace, medical device, or biotechnology industries.
- Additional certifications in mechanical assembly or other soldering techniques
- Previous experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA, ISO 9001).
