What is the opportunity?

The Trust Consultant will be responsible for driving the positioning and sales of professional trustee services and donor advised funds within assigned territory by cultivating new trust opportunities with platform providers including RBC Trust, City National Trust, Comerica, TrustCorp America (TCA), Midwest Trust Company, American Gift Fund, American Endowment Foundation and National Philanthropic Foundation and additional providers as may be added.

What will you do?

  • Positioning trustee services within the wealth planning framework as an essential planning consideration
  • Prospecting for new trusts with FAs using seminars, presentations, networking, one-on-one consultations, trust and book of business reviews
  • Provide FAs support in identifying potential trust clients through the use of dashboards, opportunity reports and ideal/targeted client discussions
  • Act as liaison between our trust partners and the advisors
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in client meetings while coaching and modeling to an ideal wealth planning client experience.
  • Provide guidance to advisors and their clients on the technical aspects of established trusts.
  • Recruiting and onboarding new advisor's established trust business.
  • Educate and coach RBC Wealth Management's FA, Client Strategies Team and other product and support teams on trust and giving strategies and opportunities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum of 10 years Financial Services industry experience with specific personal trust expertise
  • Understanding of planning concepts including expertise in estate planning
  • Excellent understanding of the financial services industry and branch office/financial advisor responsibilities
  • Minimum of four-year college degree
  • Willingness to work on appropriate industry licenses and/or other appropriate industry designations (CTFA/CFP/ChFC)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including proven presentation development and delivery skills
  • Strong customer service perspective, style and understanding of relationship selling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sales Force and Outlook

The expected salary range for this particular position is $110,000-$190,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
