Position Description

Are you a driven, strategic leader with a passion for building powerhouse teams and delivering results in complex institutional environments? We're looking for a Regional Head, Hospital Sales in the West Region who can lead from the front-coaching, inspiring, and motivating a team of high-performing specialists selling into hospitals, reference labs, public health systems, and government accounts.

In this critical leadership role, you'll shape the future of our Hospital & Reference Lab sales channel by building a cohesive, high-performance team culture, navigating sophisticated matrixed sales environments, and guiding your team to win complex, high-stakes deals.

This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact-on your team, on our customers, and on patient care across the healthcare system.

Position Requirements

What You'll Do:

- Lead & Inspire a Specialized Team: Manage a team of Sales Specialists across the West Region, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Coach your team to navigate long, complex sales cycles and inspire them to exceed their goals.

- Build and Execute Strategy: Develop and implement effective territory and account strategies. Understand market dynamics, analyze trends, and drive initiatives that create sustainable growth across a diverse set of hospital and institutional accounts.

- Coach on Complex Sales Excellence: Provide hands-on coaching in all aspects of institutional selling in a hospital environment-especially complex contract negotiations and capital/lab purchasing processes. Empower your team to partner with key stakeholders in the hospital including Infectious Disease, Infection Control, Risk Management, Pharmacy, HR, and Administration.

- Forecast with Precision: Lead a structured, systematic process for monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasting-ensuring accuracy, visibility, and alignment with organizational goals.

- Drive Collaboration with Selling Partners: Thrive in a matrix environment by partnering cross-functionally with marketing, customer service, technical support, and external sales partners to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.

- Recruit, Develop, Retain Top Talent: Attract top-tier talent and invest in their development. Conduct regular performance reviews and create tailored development plans that stretch, grow, and retain your best people.

- Drive Operational Excellence: Ensure CRM compliance, track budget performance, and drive consistent execution of field initiatives.

Personal Requirements

What You Bring:

- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in sales leadership with a proven track record of success in a hospital or diagnostics sales environment.

- A deep understanding of the hospital ecosystem and institutional sales, including capital equipment and diagnostics.

- A track record of building and leading top-performing teams.

- Strong business acumen and the ability to coach others in interpreting sales data and closing complex deals.

- Demonstrated experience creating and managing revenue forecasts using large, complex sales data sets.

- A strategic mindset, combined with tactical execution skills.

- A BS degree (or equivalent), and ideally, experience with QIAGEN's product lines or related industry knowledge.
