Job Summary:

The HSE Manager reports to the Plant Manager and ensures the plant complies with all regulatory requirements including OSHA/EPA/NFPA/DOT programs and adherence to ISO14001/45001programs. Responsibilities include development of technical policies, programs, and procedures to achieve regulatory compliance, providing technical assistance to facility managers, developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory personnel, conducting internal audits, risk assessment and hazard awareness communication.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental Occupational Management is required.


  • 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and/or Environmental management including systems and policies development & implementation.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments in functions such as: Operations, Engineering, Quality, or Operational Excellence.
  • Experience on shop floor, working with employees, and enhancing safety in manufacturing processes.


  • Computer proficiency is required.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Certification in CSP, CIH, CHMM is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability in influencing others, interpersonal relationship building, and both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and support. Certified Lead Auditor in ISO 14001 and/or 45001 a plus.
  • Proficiency in auditing for compliance.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Incident Management: Conducts thorough accident investigations and prepares serious incident reports. Oversees the internal Incident Management System (IMS) to track incidents, KPIs, and HSE engagement.
  • Regulatory Interaction: Engages with OSHA/EPA regarding reporting, complaints, and inspections, and collaborates with regional plant HSE Managers on external agency activities.
  • Accident Investigations: Supervises accident investigations and prepares materials for hearings, lawsuits, and internal reviews.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Oversees plant emergency response plans, enforces security precautions, and performs other assigned duties.
