McKenney's Inc. is seeking Plumbing Apprentices to join our team in the Metro Charlotte, NC area.We are a thriving company with 75+ years of exceptional service to the Southeast.ThePlumbing Apprentice will be responsible for assisting qualified plumbers helping to install, repair, and maintain pipes used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist qualified plumbers in installation, repair, and maintenance of domestic water, piping, drain piping, fixtures, and gas piping.
  • Pick up and deliver necessary parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Communicate efficiently with team leaders, account managers, supervisors and other McKenney's team members as needed.
  • Cut openings in structures in preparation for repairs or installation.
  • Maintain electronic work orders to include detailed description of work performed and time entry daily.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's license. Employees in this classification must maintain insurability during the term of employment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours

  • Excellent grammar and punctuation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and make decisions quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate work in a timely manner.

  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Ability to climb and work at heights, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, lifting, bending, pushing, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations
  • Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and to negotiate work areas under construction.
