Job Title: Post-Silicon Validation Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA Work Mode: 100% Onsite Work Hours: 40 hours/week, 1st Shift (To be flexible for occasional 2nd shift work and occasional weekend work) Duration: 1 year, 10+ months Travel/Driving Requirement: May involve less than 2 hours of driving per week between campus buildings using a personal vehicle or company shuttle Physical Requirement: Ability to carry/move hardware or equipment up to 20 lbs Job Description We are seeking to add an experienced and versatile Post-Silicon Validation Engineer to our team to execute and streamline validation processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with post-silicon validation, automation, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. You will be working within the central SoC digital hardware organization, supporting the overall quality of SoC silicon. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and a focus on delivering high-quality validation using scalable and automated approaches. Key Responsibilities Deep understanding of SoC architectures, including CPUs, DDRs, on-chip buses, networking protocols, and embedded systems. Address validation challenges with DDR, high-speed peripherals/buses, GPIOs. Apply expertise in test platforms and SoC testing methodologies. Handle recurring high-volume validation tasks: test execution, regression scheduling, result analysis, and failure triage. Perform platform and failure debugging at the embedded level. Enhance and drive new stress testing methodologies. Develop automation solutions to scale validation and integration. Provide lab support for hardware configuration and logistics. Manage tasks involving robotic handlers and lab IT activities. Define end-to-end automation requirements through stakeholder collaboration. Document and formalize validation processes including workflows and dashboards. Drive periodic team meetings and brainstorming sessions. Address lab infrastructure and hardware handling. Offer technical customer support as needed. Top 5 Required Skills Experience with post-silicon enabling, bring-up, and failure analysis at the embedded platform level Proficiency in using lab equipment (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Thermal Chambers, TCUs, etc.) Board-level debugging expertise Strong knowledge of automation tools and techniques IT skills including PCs, system software configurations Excellent communication skills Technologies & Tools JTAG / Lauterbach SoC and embedded system knowledge LLVM / GCC compiler toolchains Python, object-oriented programming Jenkins, Jira, Splunk or similar web-based enterprise/BI tools Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of power and performance metrics Familiarity with TCU, PVT, Fmax, Vmin test methodologies Experience with CPU and SoC architectures Hands-on experience using handlers / automated pick-and-place machines Program and logistics management experience Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related experience OR Master's degree in the same fields with 3+ years of related experience |
