About the Role
Culmen International is hiring a Radiation Portal Monitor Program (RPMP) System Engineering and Integration Lead (SE&IL) to provide design engineering, equipment, and network installation support for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 50% of the position will be dedicated to design engineering support and 50% will be dedicated to providing equipment and network system installation support. The RPMP SE&IL will provide technical expertise to the DHS Office of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction's (CWMDO) Radiation Portal Monitor Program, including support for surveys of prospective sites, sites under reconstruction, support for equipment installation, programming, testing, commissioning, and basic operator training. This is a remote/hybrid role with 70% travel in the domestic U.S. (TX, CA, WA, MI, SC, VA, FL, MS, NJ, and NY). Additional travel 2-4 times a year to client sites in Bethesda, MD or Alexandria, VA for meetings and training may be required. This position is subject to 75% outdoor/25% indoor working conditions on-site in all elements of weather and land.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
- Participate in all phases of RPM design engineering, and system integration development with emphasis on planning, integration, testing, (de)commissioning, and acceptance phases
- Support design engineering team with review of systems and integrations in RPM design drawings and specifications, explain system integration requirements to construction team/contractors, and initiate outreach to design engineering team from the field with RFI's, as needed
- Support field deployment of system integration of gate arms, traffic lights, Intercoms, cameras, etc. in addition to related testing and acceptance activities
- Test and validate integration with related devices such as relays, meters and managed ethernet switches
- Provide test plan checklists, for HMI/PLC programming troubleshooting and best practice implementation based on deployment site concept of operations (CONOPs)
- Perform quality oversight on the project deployment throughout construction against design standards, drawing specifications, stakeholder requirements and OEM installation requirements
- Develop and manage document and reporting requirements supporting onsite compliance inspections, contract deliverables, daily/weekly program actions/events, including commissioning and testing packages
- Work cross-functionally with the team as a point of contact for technical guidance when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy and identify resources across multi-disciplinary, multi-functional areas
- Work closely with the management team of Culmen and our prime contractor, attending meetings, resolving issues and adjusting technical resources as necessary
- Other team collaboration support tasks and duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, or a related technology field
OR
- 8-10 Years of experience equivalent in lieu of degree
- 8-10 years of experience managing, leading and/or coordinating cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams such as teams of electrical engineers, equipment acceptance testing specialists, procurement, and logistics specialists
- Some experience with screening equipment such as contraband cargo/pedestrian screening or radiation portal monitors
- Strong written and oral communication skills, fast learner, detail oriented, strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and/or some programming code languages
- Experience working with U.S. federal government customers preferred
- Experience working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection preferred

The projected compensation range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000 annually. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Culmen's total compensation package for employees.
