Job Profile Summary
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining all HVAC units across FHCSD to ensure appropriate air exchanges. Conduct scheduled maintenance of all heating and cooling units.

Job Roles

  • Monitor all HVAC units to ensure appropriate air exchanges.
  • Monitor all air conditioning units, schedule maintenance of all heating and cooling units.
  • Schedule maintenance of all exhaust ventilation units to maintain fresh air.
  • Monitor all malfunctions on mechanical processes, diagnose and repair all equipment within that process.
  • Clean, adjust and repair systems to maintain appropriate levels of fresh air.
  • Apply local HVAC codes in a practical manner for each job.
  • Provide technical support in the field.
  • Layout, design, and install low-voltage wiring.
  • Run after-hours calls as required.
  • Perform HEPA filter changes to maintain air quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on "UV-C" ultraviolet bacterial light systems.
  • Oversee "UV-C" light system installations and warranty replacements to maintain a bacteria free air supply.
  • Document all project activities and preventive maintenance tasks to include maintaining files.
  • Monitor inventory for all HVAC parts, filter media, UV-C light systems utilizing a maintenance management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification required.
  • Professional Technician (PT) certificate, or the Master Specialist Hands-On (MS) certificate preferred.
  • Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job. Must have a car, a valid California driver's license, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency. Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy.
  • Must successfully be enrolled in the DMV pull program and meet organizational driving requirements prior to start date.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • 2 - 5 years of experience installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems required.
  • Demonstrated ability diagnosing and repairing sources in heating and cooling system problems.
  • Demonstrated ability in finding or altering replacement parts for heating and cooling systems.
  • Demonstrated skills in Installing individual parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.).
  • Skill in the use of power tools in a safe manner.
  • Ability and skill in maintaining air and water treatments in HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrated skill in monitoring all processes to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ability to identify and prepare reports for any violations, and maintain efficient records within required timeframe, utilizing a maintenance management system.
  • Ability in documenting all project activities and maintaining files in monitoring inventory for all HVAC parts utilizing a maintenance management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and recommend improvements to maintain optimal operations in managing all value-added processes.
  • Identify all HVAC and refrigeration systems issues, perform repair on systems and perform required preventive maintenance.

22.04 - 33.12

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
