Perry Software Engineer

This position is responsible for Software Updates for the Perry Simulator at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing all software changes to the Perry Simulator software.
• Working knowledge of power plant systems or other large industrial process.
• Understanding of FORTRAN or other computer programming language.
• Basic understanding of control systems theory.
• Understanding of basic networking principles.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Project management working with software vendor for modifications and improvements.
• Management of antivirus software.
• Managing and completing assigned activities to support timely implementation of required site operations.
• Interacting professionally with other station departments and outside agencies to ensure quality training is provided.
• Maintaining simulator fidelity with the plant in all aspects, including procedures and decor
• Assisting licensed operator simulator training
• Preparing reports for company management.
• Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management across the plant's organization.
• Must possess the coordination skills necessary to independently schedule various simulator training meetings.
• Must reside within site-specific ERO response time.
