Overview:

In this role, the Quality Control Lab Manager will be responsible for providing manufacturing support by maintaining on-time product flow through Quality Control processes. The primary responsibility is to provide leadership for all quality control technicians and supporting functions and test methods., Responsible for managing sites ISO Quality system. Develop and drive continuous improvement processes. Develop standardization of QC methods. Develop employee cross-training using various lab equipment, EtQ, SAP, Outlook, Excel, and color software/hardware to verify successful manufacturing of product specifications. This position will report on-site, Monday through Friday, In Northlake, IL.

Essential Job Functions:

• Plan, organize, and direct department personnel to meet customer expectations
• Lead and develop the quality team. Consistently handle employee labor relations issues such as training, counseling, discipline, and conflict resolution.
• Manage and maintain ISO certification, Lead Management Rep.
• Lead customer site visits and audits.
• Management representative for the site of corporate customers complaint system (ETQ). Lead and perform root cause investigation and corrective action.
• Perform record SAP analysis
• Acknowledge and process all quality documentation regarding production.
• Display effective training of department personnel in the execution of WI & SOP.
• Maintain department budgets and costs.
• Provide capital equipment justifications for the department.
• Use of Gas Chromatography, FTIR and other Lab equipment.
• Minimize errors through document proofing/review.
• Capable of preforming and training on standardized quality control tests.
• Make effective material additions that ensure product design.
• Manages calibration and equipment verification systems.
• Maintains lab and equipment with high standards in a clean working environment.
• Facilitate sites KPI & other department metrics.
• Lead sites Nonconforming product workoff program.
• Knowledge of SAP modules.
• Maintain, correct, and process all COAs.
• Conduct daily meetings with direct reports.

• Use 5S methodology to ensure that work areas are clean, organized, and efficient.

• Collect and analyze statistical data, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborates with formulators in the transition of inks from the lab bench to the manufacturing floor.

Required Education and Experience:

• BS or BA. Chemistry preferred.
• Candidates must possess 3-5 years of quality control management experience within a manufacturing batch environment. Inks/adhesive/coatings experience is preferred.
• Must be proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Strong Customer Service Skills with the ability to follow up and follow through:
• Ability to learn and understand procedures for technical and analytical testing * Flexibility with scheduling and adapting to business requirements & needs * Ability to prioritize.
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience in safety, environmental and regulatory matters.
• Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and motivate others.
• Experience with ISO and Six Sigma Methodology/Techniques is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully champion change, work across silos and provide an innovative approach to the function.

Salary Information: Pay range $78,600 - $121,800
