Process Technician I - Plywood Dept

Summary
Production Technicians are responsible for operating one or more machines to produce products such as thermoforming plastic sheets, lids, containers, and other similar items.

Responsibilities
* Operates one or more of the following machines in order to produce product:platen presses, vacuum forming machines, ovens, dies, cutting equipment, trimming equipment, etc.
* Observes operation of the machine to detect malfunctions.
* Notifies appropriate personnel when malfunction occurs.
* Takes corrective action as needed.
* Maintains housekeeping of work area and equipment.
* Reports any unsafe conditions immediately.
* Loads/unloads material, moves switches and controls that operate machines, and cleans out machines at end of shift.
* May train new employees and/or temporary workers.
* May be required to wear protective clothing and safety devices (i.e., ear protection, eye protection, steel-toed boots) as directed by supervisor.
* May be required to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
* Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
* Basic knowledge of math.
* Good communication skills and ability to learn new processes quickly.
* Good computer skills helpful.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Good problem solving skills.
* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
* Availability to work overtime on short notice.
* Experience working with various types of machinery and manufacturing processes preferred.
