Position Description

We're looking for a full-time, staff Instructional Designer to join our Day & Zimmermann team. The Instructional Designer I will collaborate with the Manager of Learning Systems and Processes, Learning & Development Specialists, and Instructional Designer II to develop engaging eLearning content and multimedia resources. This role supports online learning initiatives by assisting in the creation of instructional materials, integrating multimedia elements (audio, video, and graphics), and managing Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including virtual instructor-led training (VILT) support.

As the Instructional Designer, here's the work you'll do:

  • Design and enhance instructional materials and courses that align with adult learning principles, optimizing engagement across eLearning, hybrid, and in-person formats. Ensure alignment between learning objectives and instructional strategies to drive effective knowledge retention and skill application.
  • Revise and improve instructional materials based on stakeholder feedback, data insights, and instructional effectiveness reviews to maintain relevance and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Administer LMS functions, including user management, course assignments, troubleshooting, and reporting. Collaborate with LMS vendors to identify, document, and resolve technical issues, ensuring seamless learner experiences.
  • Support management administrative tasks for Leadership Programs (Upskilled, FLL, AMP), including scheduling, communications, and assessment coordination. Edit and upload VILT session recordings to the LMS for on-demand access.
  • Partner with L&OD peers and stakeholders to build Learning Paths comprised of existing content within the organizations LMS.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS). SAP Litmos is a plus.
  • Create, edit and redesign instructional material: courses, curriculum, job aids and training recordings to ensure it matches the learner's needs
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Office software, Zoom and SharePoint. Camtasia is a plus. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous timelines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Past experience in the staffing world would be a plus.

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent (2+) years of work experience
  • 1+ years experience in instructional design
  • 1+ years experience using eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe Creative suite, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite, specifically Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, Teams and PowerPoint.
  • E-learning and/or Instructional Design certification preferred
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.



In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $68,480.00 - $102,720.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
