University degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Legal

  • Minimum three years of experience working in Human Resources/Labor Relations
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals across all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of applicable employment and labor relations regulations
  • Ability to rapidly mobilize and manage internal and external resources to mitigate risks to the Mars business and reputation
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work effectively while managing competing projects and/or demanding clients

* Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction

* Can be a Line Manager for Business Operations and Technical roles (up to 3)

This is typically a Assignment with significantly more authority and responsibility at this Assignment level. It should be selected to recognize differences which are not enough to be represented by a separate Assignment level, such as increased proficiency in skills/competencies to perform responsibilities, greater impact to the business unit, customer, segment, geography, etc. May also provide guidance or leadership to other Associates.

Relates to the organization's plans, procedures, programs, controls, and records regarding acquisition, retention, utilization, talent management and productivity of its prospective, current and former Associates.

Associate Relations

Serves as the point of contact for Associate relations issues and inquiries within an identified cross segment, cross functional client group. Builds trust, credibility and collaborative relationships with Line Managers and Associates. Handles inquiries and mitigates risk to the organization through application of policies, practices and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Focuses on significant business imperatives critical to the organization's success, including but not limited to: Great Line Management, the Associates Concept and our Associates relations related policies and practices. Mitigates the potential adverse impact of labor issues while creating alignment with the Mars Five Principles, and driving consistency in the management of Associates relations. Provides subject matter expertise to ensure fair treatment, coaching managers to build capability and manage complex escalated policy inquires, Associates concerns and cases of Associates performance.
