Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Location: Hybrid within MA (preferred), CT, NY, VT, RI
Purpose/Objective:
The Salesforce DevOps Architect acts as a trusted advisor to lines of business and technology teams to understand technical impacts associated with transforming current business processes. The Salesforce DevOps Architect is responsible for recommending scalable design and practicable technical implementation with an understanding of the relevant constraints and opportunities while mitigating risk and minimizing technical debt. The Salesforce DevOps Architect will provide critical insight to help recommend and implement target state, roadmaps, and assist in the identification of new and emerging technologies to ensure that the overall architecture supports that align to the Bank's goals and objectives. This role works very closely with colleagues across IT and specifically with DevOps Subject Matter Experts (SME) to design and deploy end-to-end solutions that address the specific business needs. The Salesforce DevOps Architect plays an active role in gathering business requirements during discovery sessions, assisting in data mapping and governance, creating POCs, and delivering actionable design and technical documentation to developers based on Stakeholder analysis and prioritization to schedule Enterprise Releases of desired functionality
The Salesforce DevOps Architect acts as a SME across multiple SaaS and PaaS solutions that the bank utilizes and internally develops, including and not limited to Salesforce, Mulesoft, Snowflake and Talend, along with emerging technologies such as AI and their intersection to these solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
* ARCHITECTURE: Works closely with fellow DevOps SME's design and architect integrated solutions that leverage low-code/no-code platforms, including applications of AI and application development approaches. Ability to create, review and troubleshoot code in common languages such as Apex, Java, HTML, CSS, etc. Hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions. Engineer solutions for specific business problems while focusing on how the architecture will affect broader systems and processes across the organization. A robust understanding of API-led architecture and how to integrate disparate systems and information to create an ideal user experience, both as a customer and a user. Expertise in designing of integrating systems utilizing APIs and AI applications. Understand end-of-life (EOL) for existing architecture and work towards proactively understanding the impacts of replacement technology through current and future state diagrams as appropriate. Assess and provide architecture feedback taking into consideration business criticality, functional & technical fit, performance & risk. Understand the intersection of constraints and dependencies between existing bank technologies such as, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Snowflake, Talend, and AI solutions, core systems and emerging technologies. Collaborate across functional lines of businesses, including Infrastructure, IT Risk and Data Governance to create holistically architected solutions. Define and document architecture standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment with industry best practices. Provide guidance and assistance for the DevOps team, including relevant support and feedback regarding thoughtful design implementation, critical aspects of solutions available, and recommendations for appropriate solutions to meet business needs. 50%
* SOLUTION ANALYSIS: Participate in analysis of business functions and areas of opportunity as well as external environments to collaborate with Business Analysts to understand business needs and make recommendations in support of the technology roadmap. Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology solutions. Responsible for identifying solutions that effectively address business and IT issues through technical analysis, troubleshooting, research, evaluation, and communication. Participate in vendor evaluations, identifying functional and technical capabilities required, as well as manage POCs and socialize recommendations. 40%
* LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: Proactively work to understand how technology changes will continue to shape the future of the organization and business needs and support transformation efforts collaboratively. Communicate the value of new IT strategies and inform key stakeholders of ongoing initiatives. Work with appropriate team members to provide thought leadership in creating, grooming, and defining the backlog for continually improving the overall bank enterprise architecture through thoughtful collaboration across internal departments. Help establish Salesforce centers of excellence 10%
* Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related field or equivalent work experience
* Certifications relating to design and architecture
Experience:
* 5+ years' of project management experience
* Experience with PaaS and SaaS enterprise offerings: Salesforce, Dynamics, Mulesoft, Snowflake, and Talend
* Experience across multiple lines of business within financial institutions, such as retail, operations, and IT
* Experience with Atlassian programs, including Jira and Confluence
* Proven expertise in change management and process/gap analysis
* Experience in API-led architectural design
Skills & Knowledge:
* A self-starter, experienced in leading projects or delivery work streams
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to observe trends, uncover operational gaps, and actively make suggestions based on the results
* Strong understanding of API-lead architecture both on and outside of the Salesforce platform
* Ability to demonstrate concepts visually and in writing in a way that enables stakeholders to decide with confidence
* A strategic approach to solution design, with a proven ability to develop and execute tactical plans to support the strategy
* Strong understanding of systematic workflow automation, and applications of artificial intelligence, including generative AI, LLM and NLPs and their risk
* Ability to influence decisions and gain consensus across LOB
* Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency and security
* Excellent written communication, training, presentation, and organizational skills
* Familiarity with Apex, Java, HTML, CSS
